Scarlet Raptors Blank Chargers in Opener

The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team finally began its season on Wednesday after having its opening weekend washed out, and the Chargers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Rutgers-Camden, 1-0 in Camden, N.J. The Scarlet Raptors improved to 1-1 this season, while the Chargers fell to 0-1.

Game Recap: The only goal of the game occurred just 4:51 into the contest, as Meghan Wachira scored her second goal of the season. A cross came through the box and went off the left post and into the back of net, as the Scarlet Raptors took an early 1-0 lead.

Lancaster Bible spent the rest of the half trying to get the equalizer, and had chances, as the Chargers took the next five shots of the game following Wachira's goal, and had a corner kick opportunity. Lancaster Bible couldn't find the back of the net, and managed just one shot and two corner kicks in the second half.

The Chargers had a corner kick with under three minutes to play, but couldn't convert, and Rutgers-Camden ran out the clock.
