The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday in upstate New York, as the Chargers lost to Cazenovia, 87-80. The loss drops the Chargers to 11-7 overall and 8-2 in NEAC play, while the Wildcats improved to 9-9 overall and 5-5 in NEAC action.

How it Happened: The Wildcats opened the game on a 6-2 run, but Lancaster Bible responded with a 7-1 run and took a 9-7 lead on a jumper from
Luke Beers. A few minutes, later, the Chargers extended their lead to 17-12 on a 3-pointer from
Jordan Shewbridge, but Cazenovia fought back and tied the game at 21-21 with 10:03 to play on a 3-pointer from Blake Bagozzi.

From there, the teams engaged in a back-and-forth that would last for much of the rest of the first half, though Lancaster Bible was able to build a 40-32 lead a layup from
Quentin Davis with 5:08 remaining. The Wildcats tied the game at 42-42 with two minutes to play in the opening half, and then a late layup from Majesty Wilder cut the Chargers' advantage to 47-44 heading into halftime.

 Lancaster Bible scored the first four points of the second half, as Davis thundered home a dunk to make it 51-44 just 1:48 into the second frame. This time, the Chargers not only kept the lead, but stretched it, and led 61-50 with 13:12 to play after another 3-pointer from Shewbridge. Cazenovia wouldn't go away, and used a 12-3 run to climb back into the contest at 64-63 with 8:23 to play.

Cazenovia took its first lead of the second half, 69-68 with 5:38 remaining, but the Chargers rebounded, and tied the game at 75-75 on a layup from
Britton Beachy. The Wildcats hit a 3-pointer right after Beachy's layup, and Bagozzi extended the home team lead to 80-75 with 1:20 to play. From there, the Chargers could not get back into the game, and Cazenovia converted free throws and one more 3-pointer to clinch the win.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot just 38.8 percent (31-of-80) from the floor, including 10-of-34 from 3-point range…The Chargers were 8-of-11 from the free throw line…Cazenovia shot 50.9 percent (27-of-53) from the field, including 15-of-22 (68.2 percent) from 3-point range, and 18-of-26 from the free throw line…Shewbridge finished with a team-best 21 points, as he knocked down seven 3-pointers…Davis added 17 points and 15 rebounds, while Beers had 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting…
Benny Raymond was the fourth and final player in double figures with 11 points…Beachy chipped in with eight points and a team-high 11 assists, as well as seven boards…
Alex Whitt added six points and four rebounds…Will Cutler led five Cazenovia players in double figures with 25 points, as he too drained seven 3-pointers.
