The start of the 2019 Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball season is still two weeks away, but senior
Nate Miller has already racked up his first honor of the year, as he was named a 2019 Division III Preseason All-American by Off the Block. Off the Block, the nation's leader in collegiate men's volleyball coverage, announced its preseason team last week via its website, and Miller was the lone North Eastern Athletic Conference member on the team.
Â
There was a 12-member voting committee, and Miller missed being a unanimous selection by just one vote, as did five other players, while Kean University setter, Ian Capp, was the only player selected by all 12 members.
Â
Miller and the Chargers went 24-5 last season, en route to their first-ever NEAC Championship. Lancaster Bible then became the first team in school history to win an NCAA Division III Tournament contest, as the Chargers defeated Rivier in the NCAA First Round, before falling to top-seed, and eventual champion, Springfield in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
Â
Miller posted a Division III-best 498 kills last season, and led the Chargers in several other offensive statistics, and was named an NCAA Division III All-American.
Â
Lancaster Bible will begin its 2019 campaign at the Jim Coleman Invitational in Springfield, Ohio on Jan. 18-19, as the Chargers compete with several other top teams in the country.
Â
Be sure to follow the website for the 2019 season preview, as well as the full roster, which will be posted in the coming days.
