The Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team earned one of its biggest wins of the season on Saturday, as the Chargers defeated SUNY Poly, 2-1 in Utica, N.Y. The Wildcats, previously undefeated in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, fall to 12-4 overall and 8-1 in NEAC action, while the Chargers improve to 11-4-2 overall and 5-2-2 in conference play.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible had all of the offensive chances in the first half, as the Chargers held the Wildcats without a shot in the opening 45 minutes. Lancaster Bible had two shots and two corner kick tries in the opening 11 minutes, but couldn't convert the early chances. The Chargers had two late chances, but James Ludovic's shot was saved, and Eric Bailey's went wide.

SUNY Poly took advantage of its first shot of the afternoon, as Jamar Gayle scored off a pass from Doreion Alleyne, and gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead at the 49:29 mark. Lancaster Bible answered right back at 54:43, as Chad Tolson headed in a corner kick cross from Kedric Yoder for his sixth goal of the year.

The game stayed at 1-1 for nearly 20 minutes, but Lancaster Bible senior Caleb Nelson scored his third goal of the year at the 72:20 mark, as he took a pass from Clark Shreiner, and gave the Chargers a 2-1 advantage.

The seconds slowly ticked away, but the Chargers held off the final minutes of pressure from the Wildcats, and dealt previously NEAC-undefeated SUNY Poly, 2-1.
