The Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team opened its final weekend of the regular season with a commanding 5-1 victory over Morrisville State on Friday afternoon at the Donald H. Funk Field. The victory propels the Chargers to 12-4-2 overall and 6-2-2 in North Eastern Athletic Conference, while the Mustangs dropped to 2-11-3 overall and 1-7-2 in NEAC action.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible controlled play from the opening whistle, and after a 10-minute feeling out period where each team didn't do much,
Michael Eufemia got loose in the middle of the field at the top of the box, and took a pass from
Rama Mugisha, and quickly slid the ball under Morrisville State goalkeeper Cody Warshel. The goal was Eufemia's fifth of the year, and Lancaster Bible took another early lead.

Lancaster Bible extended its lead to 2-0 just 7:27 later, as
Nathan Muckle headed in a corner kick cross from
Kedric Yoder for his first goal of the year. The Chargers continued to control the majority of the play, and scored again at 33:42, as
Rusty Risteen put home a rebound off a strong shot from
Estiven Saldarriaga.

The Chargers led 3-0 through halftime, but came out a big sluggish in the second half, and Morrisville State made them pay, as Khin Kyi scored from 23 yards out at 53:16 to cut the Mustangs' deficit to two.

Lancaster Bible regained its control over the game over the next few minutes, and also regained its three-goal lead at 68:22, as
Caleb Nelson took a crossing pass from
Trey Baughman that went through Warshel's hands, and put it into an empty net for his fourth goal of the year.

The Chargers scored again 4:06 later, as
Chad Tolson took a great pass from
Rusty Risteen and deposited the ball into the back of the net for his seventh goal of the year.

Statistically Speaking: Lancaster Bible outshot the Mustangs, 17-3, including 8-1 in shots on goal…Lancaster Bible also held an 8-1 edge in corner kick tries…Tolson's goal was his seventh of the year, and he is tied with Mugisha for the team lead…
Jake Deterline earned the win for his 10
th victory of the season.
