Program Notes
-Lancaster Bible will enter its final season of the decade with the most wins in any decade in program history, as the Chargers have gone 153-103 (.598) since the 2010-11 season…The only other time the Chargers have won over 100 games in a decade was the 2000s, when the team went 120-173 (.410).
-
Luke Beers,
Tyler Norris,
Britton Beachy, and
Tyler Hilton are the lone players remaining from the 2017-18 team that won the NEAC Championship, and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
-The Chargers went 8-4 at home last season, 6-7 on the road, and were 0-2 in neutral site games.
-Lancaster Bible has won its last two season openers, both victories over Messiah…The last time the Chargers lost their season opener was the 2016-17 season when Lancaster Bible lost to Franklin & Marshall, 94-91 in overtime.
-
Jordan Shewbridge's 90 made 3-pointers last season were the third-most in program history, trailing just Bryce Williams (107 – 2015-16) and Matt Lynskey (91 – 2001-02).
-Lancaster Bible plays 11 times at home this season, but just twice in the first semester (Nov. 12 vs. Neumann and Dec. 3 vs. Cabrini)
Â
3 Questions for 2019-20
1. The Chargers have a difficult first semester schedule with games against Neumann, Franklin & Marshall, either Christopher Newport or Marywood, York (Pa.), Cairn, Cabrini, and Morrisville State. Never mind the team's record after seven games, how will the team have played? There are lots of new faces, including the head coach, how will the team mesh together early, and what will each game look like?
Â
2. The final 15 games of the season are all NEAC contests. How will the Chargers perform game-in and game-out with a NEAC Playoff spot hanging in the balance?
Â
3. Last year's team played well in spurts, and then would under-perform in other games. Can the Chargers be consistent throughout the season and not take games off?
