Chargers Set for NCCAA Postseason

The Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team will embark on its NCCAA Division I postseason trek on Wednesday, as the Chargers battle NCAA Division II member Roberts Wesleyan in the NCCAA Division I Midwest Region Semifinals. Wednesday's game is set to begin at 5 p.m., and the winner will face Midwest Region top seed Grace (Ind.) in the Midwest Region Final in Winona Lake, Ind. on a day and time to be determined.

Nov. 18, 2015: Lancaster Bible and Roberts Wesleyan have only played one another one other time, as the Chargers and Redhawks met in the NCCAA Div. I Midwest Region Semifinals in 2015…The Redhawks won, 3-0 that day, and held a 17-5 advantage in shots…Lancaster Bible did hold a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
 
How They Got Here
Lancaster Bible: Lancaster Bible lost in penalty kicks to Penn St. Harrisburg on Saturday, Nov. 9, as the Nittany Lions then went on to win the NEAC, but then lost to Franklin & Marshall, 1-0 in the opening round of the NCAA Div. III National Tournament…The Chargers are 14-4-3 overall this season, and will look to use their NCCAA National Tournament experience from a year ago on Wednesday night.
 
Roberts Wesleyan: The Redhawks lost to the University of Bridgeport, 2-0 in the East Coast Conference Semifinals on Nov. 13, and have lost three straight contests overall…Roberts Wesleyan began the year with an 0-3-1 overall record, but won nine of their next 11 games, and were 9-5-1 at one point.
