The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team got back into the win column on Thursday night, as the Chargers defeated Cairn, 3-0 in Langhorne, Pa. The Chargers improved to 11-3 overall this season thanks to winning, 25-12, 25-11, 25-21. The Highlanders dropped to 2-9 overall this season with the loss.

How it Happened: After the teams traded points to open the first set, Lancaster Bible won five of six points to open up an 8-4 lead. Junior
Kole Horst had three kills during the run, and Lancaster Bible eventually built a 14-5 lead after winning six straight points midway through the set. Junior
Nate Miller had two aces late in the set to give the Chargers a 22-9 advantage, and the visitors closed out the first set a few points later on a service error by the Highlanders.

Lancaster Bible rattled off six straight points early in the second set, as
Kyran Flahive hammered home two kills, and
Caleb Roberts added a kill as well. Lancaster Bible led 13-6 later in the set, and then won eight of nine points to grab a 21-7 lead. Miller had five kills over the first six points of the run, while
Hunter Davis added a solo block sandwiched in the middle. Roberts and Miller connected for back-to-back kills to end the set, as the Chargers took a 2-0 lead.

The Chargers again jumped out to an early lead in the third set, as the Chargers raced out to a 7-2 advantage thanks to
Jacob Faust who had a kill and block in the early part of the set. Cairn battled back, and won seven of eight points later in the set for a 10-9 lead. Lancaster Bible then took advantage of several Highlanders' errors and led 13-11 midway through the frame. Lancaster Bible held a slim 20-19 lead late in the set, but a kill from Roberts between two Cairn errors increased the lead to 23-19, and the Chargers closed out the match on a Highlanders' service error three points later.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 35 kills and 13 errors on 81 attempts for a .272 hitting percentage, while Cairn had 14 kills and 22 errors on 85 attempts for a -.094 attack percentage…The Chargers held a 7-3 edge in aces, and a 44-32 advantage in digs…Horst led all players with 11 kills, while Miller had 10 kills and two aces…Flahive added four kills, while Roberts had three…
