The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team stretched its winning streak to four on Friday night, as the 12th ranked Chargers defeated the 14th ranked Juniata Eagles, 3-1 at Horst Athletic Center. The 20-25, 25-18, 25-16, 27-25 victory propels Lancaster Bible to 14-3 overall this season, while the Eagles dropped to 10-3.

How it Happened: Juniata came out firing, and took a 7-3 lead on a block assist by Kevin Duffy and Quinn Peterson. Lancaster Bible fought back and cut its deficit to 11-9 on a kill from
Nate Miller midway through the set. The Chargers brought it to 14-13, but Juniata responded with four straight points, and led 18-13 after yet another block by Peterson and Duffy. The Chargers cut the deficit to three one more time, but the Eagles held strong, and closed out the set, 25-20, on a kill from Joe Fick.

Lancaster Bible took five of the first seven points of the second set, and led, 5-2 after a kill from
Benjamin Herb. The Eagles battled back and took a 9-8 lead, but Lancaster Bible won four of the next five points, and grabbed a 12-10 advantage on an ace from
Kaleb Ansell. The set stayed close, but Lancaster Bible earned five of six points later in the set, and took a 21-15 lead on an ace from Herb. Miller closed the second set out on a kill, as
Zach Keating's serving helped turn the set for the Chargers.

The teams exchanged points to open the third set, but with Juniata ahead, 6-5, Lancaster Bible won six straight points, and took an 11-6 lead after an error by the Eagles. Again it was Keating serving the Chargers into the lead, and Lancaster Bible took a 17-10 lead later in the set on a big kill from
Daniel Kreider. The Chargers continued to hold a lead, and closed out the third set on an ace from
Kole Horst.

Juniata jumped out to an 8-6 lead to begin the fourth set, but the Chargers earned five straight points, as Horst had four of the five points on kills, and Lancaster Bible took an 11-8 lead. The Eagles came right back by winning seven of nine points, and led 15-13 after an ace from Peterson. The Chargers tied it on back-to-back kills from Horst and Kreider, and took an 18-17 lead a few points later after an ace from Miller.

The teams went back-and-forth after that, and the Eagles fought off two set points at 24-23, and 25-24, but after a kill from Herb put the Chargers ahead, 26-25, Kreider and Herb leapt up and blocked Duffy's attack, and gave the Chargers the set, 27-25, and the match, 3-1.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 49 kills and 22 errors on 119 attempts for a .227 hitting percentage, while the Eagles had 41 kills and 20 errors on 112 attempts for a .188 hitting percentage…Miller led the Chargers with 19 kills, and also had 11 digs, while Horst had 16 kills, eight digs and six blocks…Herb added six kills, five digs and two blocks…Kreider had four kills and two blocks, while fellow middle hitter,
Zeke Hallman had three kills and six blocks…Ansell had 38 assists and eight digs, while Keating had two aces…
Kurt Maysilles had 10 digs for the Chargers as well…Peterson had a team-best 18 kills for the Eagles.
