The Lancaster Bible College softball team opened its 2019 season on Monday in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. and dropped two games, as the Chargers lost to Mount Aloysius, 9-0, and then Immaculata, 11-0. The Chargers begin the year 0-2, while Mount Aloysius improved to 3-1, and the Mighty Macs went to 2-0.

Mount Aloysius 9, Lancaster Bible 0 – 5 innings
Game Notes:
-Mount Aloysius scored three times in the first inning, as the Mounties connected for four hits

Kendra Brown collected the first hit of the season for the Chargers in the top of the second inning, but was thrown out on a fielder's choice, and the Chargers stranded a runner later in the inning
-The Mounties scored two more times in the second inning, as they got two more hits and took advantage of a Lancaster Bible error
-Mount Aloysius tacked on three more runs on three hits in the third inning to make it 8-0

Nicole DeKok reached on an error in the top of the fourth, but next batter
Morgan Burkholder's line drive to first was caught, and DeKok was doubled off of first
-Lancaster Bible got the leadoff batter on base in the fifth inning, as Brown drew a walk, but Mount Aloysius turned a double play, and after
Martina McCauley was hit by a pitch, the Mounties won the game on a groundout to the pitcher
-This was the first meeting between the two schools

-Immaculata scored five times in the first inning, as Ashley Rey's two-run triple highlighted the inning
-Lancaster Bible got two hits in the bottom of the inning from
Rheeana Miles and DeKok, but couldn't bring the runners around, and the Mighty Macs plated two more runs in the top of the second inning to take a 7-0 advantage
-Immaculata scored four more times in the top of the third, and the Chargers didn't threaten again, and lost in five innings
-This was the first-ever meeting between the two schools
