The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team rallied to win one match on Saturday and cruised through another, as the 11
th ranked Chargers completed a perfect two-day trip in New York and improved to 19-4 overall this season and 5-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play.

The Chargers trailed Wells, 2-0, before winning the final three sets for a 3-2 victory, as Lancaster Bible won, 20-25, 16-25, 25-22, 25-17, 15-12. Lancaster Bible then took down John Jay, 3-0, winning 25-18, 25-13, 25-12.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible raced out to a 7-4 lead, as junior
Nate Miller capped the run with an ace, but Wells won three straight points midway through the set to take a 12-11 advantage. Lancaster re-took the lead, 13-12, but Wells won five of the next six points for a 17-14 advantage after an ace from Robert Patzer. The Chargers battled, but Wells wouldn't give up the lead, and won the set, 25-20 on a kill from Patzer.

Wells kept the momentum going in the second set, and led 11-5 after a kill from Justin Williams. After a Lancaster Bible point, Wells won five straight points, and took a 16-6 advantage, and eventually won the set, 25-17.

The teams exchanged points to open the third set, and the Chargers grabbed a 13-12 lead on a kill from
Kole Horst midway through the set. The teams continued to go back-and-forth, but after Wells tied the set, 18-18, Lancaster Bible won four straight points, as the Chargers took advantage of two Wells' errors, followed by an ace from
Kyran Flahive, and a kill from Horst. The Express closed their deficit to 24-22, but
Zeke Hallman's kill gave the Chargers the set, and kept the visitors alive.

It was Lancaster Bible's turn to ride the momentum of a set win early in the fourth frame, as the Chargers won eight of the first nine points of the fourth set, as
Kaleb Ansell's ace capped the run. The Chargers and Express began to exchange points midway through the set, and Lancaster Bible led 22-16 late in the frame, and won three of the final four points to tie the match at 2-2.

In the fifth and final set, Lancaster Bible won four of five points to take a 6-3 lead, as Miller had a kill and an ace, while Horst added two kills during the run. Wells cut the Chargers' lead to 12-10 later in the set, but back-to-back kills from Miller and Hallman put the Chargers on the brink of a win, which they did two points later on a kill from Horst.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 62 kills and 31 errors on 130 attempts for a .238 hitting percentage, while the Express had 54 kills and 23 errors on 130 attempts for a .238 attack percentage…The Chargers also led in blocks, 10-8, and digs, 46-30…Miller led all players with 22 kills, and also added eight digs…Horst had 17 kills, 10 digs and two blocks…Hallman added nine kills and five blocks, while

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the opening set, as Flahive ended the scoring run with a kill. The Bloodhounds tied the set at 7-7, and eventually led, 14-13, but the Chargers won five of the next six points for a 19-15 lead, and then closed out the set with another five points on six tries, and won the first set on an error by John Jay.

Lancaster Bible led 13-6 midway through the second set, as
Hunter Davis and
Benjamin Herb combined for a block, and Herb closed out the set with two straight aces a few points later.

With the third set tied 2-2, Lancaster Bible won nine straight points, as senior
Joshua Rotz served throughout the run.
Caleb Roberts had two kills during the stretch, while the Chargers also took advantage of four errors from John Jay. Lancaster Bible cruised from there, and
Colin McCabe closed out the match with a kill and the Chargers had their weekend sweep.
