The Lancaster Bible College softball team played in Pennsylvania for the first time this season on Wednesday, and dropped a doubleheader to Penn St. Harrisburg in Middletown, Pa. The Chargers are now 2-8 overall this season, while the Nittany Lions improved to 8-5. Lancaster Bible lost game one, 3-0, and suffered a 10-5 defeat in game two.

Game 1
Penn St. Harrisburg 3, Lancaster Bible 0
How it Happened: Rheeana Miles led the game off with a walk, and advanced to second on a sac bunt by
Zoie Senn, but was stranded to end the first. Penn St. Harrisburg scored twice in the bottom of the first, as the Nittany Lions got four of their 11 hits in game one during the opening inning. Lancaster Bible starting pitcher
Tracy Hatton worked out of a jam in the first with two runners on to keep it a 2-0 contest.

Hatton got out of another tough inning in the bottom of the third, as she put two runners on with no outs, but got the next three batters to pop up in the infield, and the game remained 2-0 after three innings of play.

The Nittany Lions increased the lead to 3-0 in the fifth inning, as a leadoff double turned into a run on a sacrifice fly. Miles singled for the Chargers in the top of the sixth, but was again left on second base, and the Chargers went down in order to end the game an inning later.

Inside the Box Score: Miles finished 1-for-2 with a walk for the Chargers, while
Kendra Brown and
Bryanna Hoover had the other two hits for the Chargers…Hatton went six innings and scattered 11 hits, while allowing just three earned runs and striking out one…Allison Hartman earned the win for the Nittany Lions, as she struck out eight Lancaster Bible hitters.

Penn St. Harrisburg 10, Lancaster Bible 5
How it Happened: After Penn St. Harrisburg scored twice in the bottom of the first, Lancaster Bible got on the board in the top of the second with a run.
Zoie Senn walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch, and then to third on a groundout from Hoover.
Marissa Senn put a sac bunt down towards third, and scored Zoie to get the Chargers on the board.

The Nittany Lions scored three more times in the second inning, and the Chargers then stranded two runners on base in the top half of third. Penn St. Harrisburg tacked on two more runs in the third for a 7-1 lead after three innings.

Lancaster Bible pounded out three hits and took advantage of three Nittany Lion errors in the fourth inning en route to four runs, as the Chargers clawed back into the game at 7-5.
Martina McCauley had an RBI double in the inning, while
Nicole DeKok had an RBI single in the inning as well.

After a scoreless fifth for the Chargers, Penn St. Harrisburg scored three times in the bottom half of the inning to take a 10-5 lead. Lancaster Bible put runners on in the sixth and seventh innings, but couldn't make a comeback, and lost, 10-5.

Zoie Senn was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, while McCauley was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI…DeKok threw six innings and allowed just five earned runs, as the Chargers committed five errors.

Information Hodge Podge: This was the first-ever meeting between the two teams…Through 10 games, the Chargers are batting .250 as a team, led by DeKok's .467 average, as she has 14 hits in 30 at-bats…The five errors in game two are a season-high, and more than the Chargers had in the previous five games combined…The Chargers have had eight or more hits in four of their past five games.
