Chargers Post Comeback Win at Lycoming

The Lancaster Bible College women's tennis team won its second straight match on Wednesday, defeating Lycoming for the first time in program history with a 5-4 victory in Williamsport, Pa. The Chargers are now 2-2 this season, while the Warriors dropped to 2-6.
 
How it Happened: The number two doubles team of Kayla Hubbard and Haylee Fishel posted the only doubles win on Wednesday, as they won, 8-3. Greta Strunk and Michaela Dearborn lost a tight match at number one doubles with an 8-7 (7-5) set back, while the number three team of Sarah Wetzel and Kenedi Berkhimer lost another close match at number three doubles, 8-6.
 
Strunk saw her two-match singles win streak come to an end on Wednesday with a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Hannah Summerson, while Dearborn lost, 6-0, 6-0 at number two singles. With the Chargers trailing 4-1, the final four matches all went Lancaster Bible's way for a come-from-behind victory.
 
Berkhimer defeated Abby Flemming, 6-2, 6-1 at number six singles, while Hubbard won, 6-2, 0-6, 10-3 at number four singles. The final two matches also went the distance, as Fishel posted a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 victory in flight three singles, and Wetzel earned a massive comeback win with a 1-6, 7-5, 10-8 victory at number five singles. Wetzel was down a set, and trailed 4-5 in the second set, before winning the final three games of the second frame, and then taking the super tie-breaker, 10-8.
 
Match Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 1-2 all-time against Lycoming…The last time Lancaster Bible played Lycoming was March 29, 2017, and the Chargers lost, 6-3…The Chargers are 1-1 on the road this season.
