The Lancaster Bible College softball team opened North Eastern Athletic Conference play with two losses on Friday, as the Chargers lost to Penn St. Abington, 10-4 and 11-3 at Charger Field. The Chargers are now 3-11 overall and 0-2 in conference play, while the Nittany Lions improved to 5-10 overall and 2-0 in NEAC action.

Penn St. Abington 10, Lancaster Bible 4 – Game 1
Game Notes:
-Penn St. Abington got on the board in the top of the first with two runs, but the Chargers answered back in the bottom of the inning, as
Martina McCauley doubled, and then eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by
Nicole DeKok.
-The Nittany Lions tacked on four more runs in the second inning, and scored again in the fourth to take a 7-1 lead

Marissa Senn hit a two-run single in the fourth that scored
Rheeana Miles and
Kendra Brown to cut the Chargers' deficit to four at 7-3, but Penn St. Abington scored two runs in the sixth to restore its six-run lead, and eventually won, 10-4

Game Notes:
-After two scoreless innings, Penn St. Abington scored a run in the third and fourth innings to grab a 2-0 lead

Zoie Senn scored on an error in the bottom half of the fourth inning to make it a 2-1 game, but the Nittany Lions tacked on two more runs in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead
-The Chargers came right back in their half of the fifth, as a McCauley groundout scored
Bryanna Hoover, and DeKok singled home
Marissa Senn later in the inning to bring the Chargers to within one run, 4-3
-Penn St. Abington scored an insurance run in the sixth, and then blew the game open in the seventh with six runs
