The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team opened North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Saturday with a 20-8 loss to SUNY Poly in Utica, N.Y., as the Chargers fell to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in conference play. The victory propels SUNY Poly to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in NEAC action.

How it Happened: SUNY Poly scored the first four goals of the game over the opening 8:32, as Kayla Prosinski netted the opening three goals for the Wildcats. Senior
Hannah Thompson scored three of the game's next four goals to get the Chargers back into the contest, as her third of the game came with 8:58 remaining in the half, and cut Lancaster Bible's deficit to 5-3.

The Wildcats rebounded, and scored three goals in the final 4:37 of the first half, the last coming with two seconds to play, and took an 8-3 lead into halftime. SUNY Poly then opened the second half with two goals, as Jennifer Maxam's tally 4:58 into the second frame made it 10-3 in favor of the home team.

Raegan Horst broke up the scoring run by the Wildcats with a goal 5:22 into the half, but SUNY Poly scored seven straight times over the next nine minutes, and took a commanding, 17-4 lead.

Emily Morgan, Horst and Thompson all scored late goals for the Chargers, but it was not enough to bring Lancaster Bible back.

By the Numbers: SUNY Poly outshot the Chargers, 38-24, and held a 26-13 edge in shots on goal…The Chargers picked up 28 ground balls, but lost the draw control battle, 16-12…Thompson finished with four goals and an assist for the Chargers, and also picked up a team-best eight ground balls…Horst had two goals and four caused turnovers…
