Mustangs Upend Chargers

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team dropped their second game in as many days in upstate New York, as the Chargers lost to Morrisville State, 24-4 in Morrisville, N.Y. The loss drops the Chargers to 1-9 overall and 0-2 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Mustangs improved to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in conference action.

Ho w it Happened: Lancaster Bible actually opened the scoring on Sunday, as senior Hannah Thompson scored 3:46 into the contest to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead. Morrisville State scored the next three goals over a 1:25 span, but the Chargers answered back, as Thompson scored again, and cut the deficit to 3-2.

The Mustangs scored two goals in 12 seconds following Thompson's second goal, but Kaylee Boger scored for the Chargers 10:15 into the half, and Lancaster Bible trailed just 5-3. Morrisville State took over from that point however, and scored the final 10 goals of the first half, and the next 14 goals overall.

Boger's second goal of the game with 18:58 remaining broke the Mustangs' scoring run, but that would be the lone goal of the second half for the Chargers, as the Mustangs scored 19 of the final 20 goals in the contest.

The Coach Says: "We were able to play 12 players today by shifting everyone around, and kept it close for the opening nine minutes of the game," Lancaster Bible Head Coach Cheri Horst said. "We had lots of girls step up huge despite all of our injuries, and Nicolette played the best game of her career. Morrisville State is a great all-around team, and played with class today, and I was proud of our effort for the full 60 minutes.
