The Lancaster Bible College baseball team began North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Saturday, as the Chargers dropped a doubleheader to Penn College at Central Columbia High School in Bloomsburg, Pa. The Chargers lost game one, 6-4, and then suffered a 17-3 setback in game two. Lancaster Bible is now 3-8 overall and 0-2 in NEAC play, and will look to salvage a game of the opening series with a win on Sunday back in Bloomsburg.

Game 1
Penn College 6, Lancaster Bible 4
Game Notes:
-Penn College put four runs on the board in the bottom of the second, as the Wildcats hit back-to-back home runs in the inning
-The Wildcats scored again in the third, but the Chargers finally plated a run in the fourth, as
Jacob Schenck singled to right field and scored Luis Padilla Jr.
-Padilla homered to lead off the sixth inning to bring the Chargers to within three, and the Chargers looked to be adding more runs in the inning, as they loaded the bases, but they couldn't score, and left three runners on base
-Penn College restored its four-run lead in the bottom of the sixth, but Lancaster Bible scored twice in the top of the seventh thanks to one swing from
Will Welsh, as he connected on a two-run home run that scored Padillia
-The Chargers brought the tying run to the plate later in the inning, but couldn't score again, and lost, 6-4

Game Notes:
-Nothing seemed to go right for the Chargers in game two, as they committed seven errors and Penn College scored in every inning but one
-Lancaster Bible did open the scoring in game two, as Welsh singled home
Josh Saufley, but Penn College scored twice in the bottom of the inning, and once in the second, and three times in the third and fourth, as the home team led, 9-1 after four innings of play
-Padilla had a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning, and he singled again in the top of the ninth to score
