The Lancaster Bible College softball team dropped a doubleheader at Penn St. Berks on Friday afternoon, as the Nittany Lions won game one, 5-0, before taking game two, 9-1 in Reading, Pa. The losses send the Chargers to 11-19 overall and 5-9 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Nittany Lions improved to 22-8 overall and 12-0 in NEAC action.

Game 1
Penn St. Berks 5, Lancaster Bible 0
How it Happened: Penn St. Berks scored twice in the home half of the first inning, as the first three batters of the inning reached base safely.
Bryanna Hoover doubled for one of Lancaster Bible's two hits in the top of the second, but was stranded there as the inning ended.

Penn St. Berks added a run in the fourth inning, and was again aided by a Chargers error, as Lancaster Bible pitcher
Nicole DeKok pitched well for six innings. The Nittany Lions scored two more times in the fifth inning, and Lancaster Bible couldn't answer in the sixth or seventh.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible put two runners on with no one out in the top of the first, but couldn't score, and Penn St. Berks made them pay in the bottom half, as the Nittany Lions scored once to take a 1-0 lead.
Martina McCauley singled home
Kendra Brown in the top of the second to tie the game 1-1, but the Nittany Lions re-took the lead in the bottom half of the inning with a run.

Penn St. Berks extended its lead to 3-1 in the third inning, and then 6-1 in the fourth. Miles got a hit to lead off the sixth inning for the Chargers, but was caught stealing and the inning ended without any runs for Lancaster Bible. The Nittany Lions scored three times in the bottom of the inning, and won the game, 9-1 in six innings.
