The Lancaster Bible College softball team split its second consecutive North Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday, as the Chargers dropped game one to visiting SUNY Cobleskill, but rebounded for a 6-4 victory in game two. The Chargers are now 7-13 overall this season and 2-4 in conference play, while the Fighting Tigers' record now stands at 6-8 overall and 3-1 in NEAC action.

SUNY Cobleskill 10, Lancaster Bible 1
How it Happened: After two scoreless innings, SUNY Cobleskill scored four times in the top half of the third inning, highlighted by Jillian Nitchman's two-run home run to make it 4-0.

Lancaster Bible scored a run in the bottom half of the inning, as
Zoie Senn singled home her sister
Marissa Senn, and the Chargers cut their deficit to three. The Fighting Tigers restored their four-run lead, and stretched it to five in the top of the fourth, and then scored four more times in the top of the fifth to secure the five-inning win.

Lancaster Bible 6, SUNY Cobleskill 4
How it Happened: The Chargers got on the board in the bottom of the first, as
Rheeana Miles hit a sacrifice fly to center that scored
Zoie Senn. SUNY Cobleskill took the lead in the third inning with two runs, but the Chargers tied it in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI single from Miles.

The game remained tied for an inning and a half, but Lancaster Bible got a lead-off single from
Nicole DeKok in the bottom of the fifth, and advanced to second after an out. With two outs in the inning, Hoover doubled to left-center which scored DeKok, and
Kendra Brown followed with a single that brought Hoover around to make it 4-2 in favor of the Chargers.Â
Marissa Senn singled, and
Alyssa Groff continued the hit brigade, and scored Brown with a single. McCauley finished off the scoring run with a single that scored
Marissa Senn, and the Chargers had a 6-2 lead.

SUNY Cobleskill got two runs in the top of the seventh, but couldn't tie the game, as
Tracy Hatton shut the door on the rally.

Inside the Box Score: DeKok, Burkholder, Hoover, Brown and Groff each had a pair of hits in game two, while Miles had two RBIs…McCauley pitched 5 1/3 innings, and earned her second win of the season…She scattered nine hits and allowed just two earned runs while striking out three.
