The Lancaster Bible College softball team dropped a doubleheader on Sunday to SUNY Poly, as the Chargers dropped game, 11-1 in five innings, and lost game two, 6-1. The Chargers are now 7-15 overall, and 2-6 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Wildcats improved to 6-12 overall and 3-3 in conference action.

Game 1
SUNY Poly 11, Lancaster Bible 1 – 5 innings
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible actually opened the scoring in game one, as
Rheeana Miles singled to center field and scored
Martina McCauley. The lead was short-lived, as SUNY Poly scored six runs in the top of the second, and sent 10 batters to the plate.

The Wildcats added two more runs in the third inning, as they had two hits and took advantage of two Lancaster Bible errors, and the visitors led, 8-1 after three innings. The Chargers left runners on base in the third and fourth innings, as the Wildcats scored twice more in the fourth, and their final run in the fifth.

Inside the Box Score: Lancaster Bible managed just three hits in game one, as
Zoie Senn,
Morgan Burkholder and Miles had base hits…McCauley finished 0-for-2 with a walk and a run, while
Kendra Brown and
Tracy Hatton also drew walks for the Chargers…Hatton took the loss for the Chargers, as she struck out one batter and allowed 14 hits.

SUNY Poly 6, Lancaster Bible 1
How it Happened: The Wildcats started game two right where they left off in game one, as they scored three times in the first inning. SUNY Poly had four hits in the opening inning, and again took advantage of two Lancaster Bible errors.

McCauley was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom half of the first, and moved to second on a single by
Nicole DeKok. After an out, Miles singled to center with two outs, and scored McCauley, while DeKok moved to third. The Chargers couldn't score again in the inning, and SUNY Poly got the run back in the third inning to make it 4-1.

The Wildcats added a run in both the fifth and sixth innings, and the Chargers did not record a hit after the first inning, and lost for the third time in four games.

Inside the Box Score: SUNY Poly had 12 more hits in game two, after recording 14 in game one…The hits from DeKok and Miles in the first inning were the lone hits of the game for Lancaster Bible, as the Chargers struck out seven times in game two…DeKok pitched well for the Chargers, as she scattered 12 hits over seven innings, and struck out eight Wildcat hitters.
