The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team won its second straight game on Thursday, as the Chargers defeated Neumann, 3-0 at the Donald H. Funk Field. Lancaster Bible moves back to .500 with the win, and is now 2-2 overall, while the Knights fell to 2-3-1 this season.

How it Happened: The Chargers and Knights came out to start the game battling for possession, as no team could keep possession for a long amount of time. The possession continued to be back and forth until freshman
Kara Huber was able to tap in a deflection off
Bryanna Hoover's free kick at the 22-minute mark which would be her first collegiate goal for the Chargers.

As the game moved on and Chargers moved into attack mode, senior
Joy Trumbull scored Lancaster Bible's second goal, also her first goal of the season. She was able to connect with a bouncing ball in the box from teammate
Marissa Allebach's corner kick. The first half would see a total of 14 shots as the Chargers put eight towards the goal.

With a comfortable lead to start the second half, the Chargers continued to fight for possession, but the Knights would not slow down. As the battle continued, freshman
Megan Rogers would score her first collegiate goal on an assist from
Kayla Hubbard in the 64
th minute. Both teams had chances in the final 25 minutes of the contest, but none resulted in goals, and the Chargers had their second straight win.

Statistically Speaking: The two teams would combine for 24 shots on the evening with the Chargers having 13 of the 24 shots…Neumann had four saves, two corner kicks, and only three fouls …The Chargers weren't much different as they had five saves, one corner kick, and four fouls…This was the first game of the 2019 season that the Chargers were able to put three goals on the scoreboard.

Ally Long said. "It was great to score three times, and have two freshmen score their first collegiate goals. We are excited for conference play, and looking forward to Friday's game."
