The Lancaster Bible College field hockey team dropped its fifth straight game on Friday evening, as Chargers lost to Centenary, 4-1 at the Donald H. Funk Field. The game was the Colonial States Athletic Conference opener for both teams, and the first CSAC game in Lancaster Bible field hockey history. The Chargers are now 1-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while the Cyclones improved to 3-6 overall and 1-0 in CSAC action.

How it Happened: Centenary pressured Lancaster Bible in its own end for the majority of the first quarter, as they forced the Chargers into several turnovers. Lancaster Bible goalkeeper
Chloe Campbell made two saves early in the quarter, but Centenary's Jordan Vandermark finally found the back of the cage at with just under six minutes play in the opening quarter.

Just 20 seconds later, Vandermark collected another goal, as she stole the ball and back shot the ball through Campbell's legs. The two-goal advantage stood the rest of the first half, as the teams traded possession through the midfield.

Vandermark completed the hat trick 6:05 into the third quarter, as she scored off a penalty corner to give the Cyclones a 3-0 lead. Isabella Tracy gave Centenary a 5-0 lead 48 seconds into the fourth quarter, as she deflected a shot from Vandermark into the back of the cage.

Lancaster Bible's offense woke up in the fourth quarter, as the team had several penalty corner opportunities. With just under nine minutes to play, Lancaster Bible earned another corner, and
Nina Statuti tipped in a shot from
Blessing Bowman, and cut the Chargers' deficit to three, 4-1. The Chargers had another corner late in the contest, but couldn't convert, and dropped their first-ever CSAC contest.
