The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team lost its second straight game to begin the 2019 season on Tuesday, as the Chargers lost to Alvernia, 4-0 in Reading, Pa. The loss drops the Chargers to 0-2 this season, while the Golden Wolves improved to 1-1.

How it Happened: Alvernia opened the scoring in the first five minutes, as Alison Hyde took a pass from Taylor Gough and gave the Golden Wolves a 1-0 lead at the 4:16 mark.

The Golden Wolves continued to control the play for most of the first half, but the Chargers earned three straight shots in the final six minutes of the opening half, two of which were saved by Alvernia goalkeeper Lily Sankey.

Alvernia doubled its lead at 55:40 when Hyde scored again off a feed from Breanna Dukehart, and Hyde completed the hat trick just six minutes later to give the home team a 3-0 advantage.

Lancaster Bible had a corner kick and two more shots that were saved by Alvernia midway through the second half, but Lauren Gough's goal at 80:12 ended any hope of a comeback, and the Chargers lost their first road game of the season, 4-0.
