The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team completed a North Eastern Athletic Conference weekend sweep on Sunday, as the Chargers defeated Wells, 73-59 at Horst Athletic Center for their second win in 24 hours. Lancaster Bible is now 4-8 overall and 2-1 in NEAC play, while the Express dropped to 2-9 overall and 1-2 in conference action.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible had a strong start to the game for the second straight day, as the Chargers raced out to a 7-0 lead in the first 1:21 of Sunday's contest. After
Brett Bechler led off the game with a 3-pointer,
William Afoakwah and
Britton Beachy posted back-to-back layups to get the Chargers rolling.

Lancaster Bible didn't stop there, and led 20-6 with 11:52 remaining after a jumper from
Jordan Shewbridge. The Chargers maintained a double-digit lead for another two minutes, but Wells slowly began to chip away at their deficit, and a 3-pointer from Quentin Battle cut the Chargers' lead to 23-19 with 7:20 to play. Lancaster Bible righted the ship the rest of the half, and restored its double-digit lead, as the Chargers led, 42-31 at the break.

The Chargers continued to lead for double-digits for much of the second half, and began to stretch the lead midway through the frame, as
Kobe Devine's jumper with 13:37 to play gave the home team a 58-43 lead. The advantage grew to 18 on a layup from
Luke Beers with 9:32 to play, and eventually grew to 72-53 on a dunk from Afoakwah with 2:25 to play.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot 44.1 percent (26-of-59) from the field, including 5-of-16 from 3-point range…Lancaster Bible also shot 16-of-21 from the free throw line…Wells shot 40 percent (20-of-50) from the floor, including 7-of-16 from beyond the arc…The Express were just 12-of-24 from the free throw line…Shewbridge led the Chargers with 17 points, and also added two assists and two steals…
Tyler Norris added 12 points and four boards, while
Luke Beers had eight points and seven rebounds…
Caleb Carpenter had another strong game with six points and seven rebounds, and fellow big man Afoakwah had seven points and 10 boards…Dylan Frost had a team-high nine points for Wells.
