The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team continued its program-record season-opening winning streak on Saturday, as the Chargers picked up victories over Marymount and Penn St. Altoona in Arlington, Va. The Chargers are now 5-0 overall this season, as they defeated the Saints and Nittany Lions by identical 3-1 scores.

Match Notes: After the teams split the opening two sets, Lancaster Bible won a close third set by taking six of the final eight points for a 25-22 win, as two straight errors from the Saints gave the Chargers a 2-1 lead…The Chargers took another close set in the fourth, as they led, 23-22 late in the frame, before two straight kills from
Kole Horst iced the match for the Chargers.

Statistically Speaking: Lancaster Bible had 50 kills and 16 errors on 99 attempts for a .343 hitting percentage, while the Saints had 46 kills and 23 errors on 106 attempts for a .217 hitting percentage…The Chargers held a slim 32-29 edge in digs, while Marymount led, 6-1 in aces…Horst had 23 kills to pace the Chargers, and also added seven digs…

Match Notes: After winning the first two sets, the Chargers dropped the third and trailed early in the fourth, before winning 11 of 13 points midway through the frame to take a 17-11 lead…Penn St. Altoona cut its deficit to two at 19-17, but the Chargers won six of the final seven points, including a kill from Herb which ended the match.
