The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team continued its program-record season-opening winning streak on Saturday, as the Chargers picked up victories over Marymount and Penn St. Altoona in Arlington, Va. The Chargers are now 5-0 overall this season, as they defeated the Saints and Nittany Lions by identical 3-1 scores.

Match Notes: After the teams split the opening two sets, Lancaster Bible won a close third set by taking six of the final eight points for a 25-22 win, as two straight errors from the Saints gave the Chargers a 2-1 lead…The Chargers took another close set in the fourth, as they led, 23-22 late in the frame, before two straight kills from Kole Horst iced the match for the Chargers.
 
Statistically Speaking: Lancaster Bible had 50 kills and 16 errors on 99 attempts for a .343 hitting percentage, while the Saints had 46 kills and 23 errors on 106 attempts for a .217 hitting percentage…The Chargers held a slim 32-29 edge in digs, while Marymount led, 6-1 in aces…Horst had 23 kills to pace the Chargers, and also added seven digs…Benjamin Herb had 13 kills, four digs, and three blocks…Zeke Hallman and Kyran Flahive each added four kills, while Jacob Faust had five kills, and Reuben Kemrer had 43 assists and seven digs.
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 2-2 all-time against Marymount…This was the first true road match of the season for the Chargers…Horst's 23 kills are a career-high, as his previous best was 19 kills against Alvernia on Mar. 10, 2018.

Match Notes: After winning the first two sets, the Chargers dropped the third and trailed early in the fourth, before winning 11 of 13 points midway through the frame to take a 17-11 lead…Penn St. Altoona cut its deficit to two at 19-17, but the Chargers won six of the final seven points, including a kill from Herb which ended the match.
 
Statistically Speaking: Lancaster Bible had 49 kills and 24 errors on 118 attempts for a .212 hitting percentage, while the Nittany Lions had 42 kills and 31 errors on 123 attempts for a .089 hitting percentage…The Chargers led in blocks, 14-7, digs, 44-41, and aces, 7-3…Herb led the Chargers with 11 kills, four kills, and five digs…Horst added 10 kills, while Flahive had nine kills, nine digs, three blocks, and two aces…Faust had eight kills and two aces, while Hallman had seven kills, and 11 blocks…Noah Miller chipped in with four kills and six digs, while Kemrer had 43 more assists to go with three blocks and two aces…Joshua Hess added seven digs.
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 7-11 all-time against Penn St. Altoona…The Nittany Lions were members of the NEAC through the 2018 season…Lancaster Bible is 4-0 in neutral site matches this season…Hallman's 11 blocks tie the program-record which was set by Ken Diller during the 2014 season.
