The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team improved to 5-0 over the weekend, and perhaps the biggest reasons why the team won twice on Saturday were rewarded by the North Eastern Athletic Conference on Tuesday afternoon, as senior
Kole Horst was named NEAC Player of the Week, and junior
Zeke Hallman was named NEAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Â
Horst set a career-record with 23 kills in Lancaster Bible's win over Marymount on Saturday afternoon, as the Chargers defeated the Saints, 3-1. Horst also had seven digs and an ace against Marymount, and hit .436 in the match. He then followed that up with 10 kills, two digs, and a block in the Chargers win over Penn St. Altoona. Through five matches this season, Horst leads Lancaster Bible with 70 kills, and is hitting at an impressive mark of .336. Horst also has 28 digs, two blocks, and two aces this season.
Â
Hallman, like Horst, set a career-record over the weekend, though he did is record smashing against the Nittany Lions. Hallman posted not only a career mark, but tied the program-record for blocks in a match, as he had 11 blocks in the 3-1 win over Penn St. Atoona. Of the 11 blocks, three were solo blocks, while eight were block assists. Hallman also added seven kills and three digs in Lancaster Bible's fifth straight victory. Prior to the win over Penn St. Altoona, Hallman had four kills and one block in the team's win over Marymount. So far this season, Hallman has 32 kills and just six errors on 55 attempts for a .473 hitting percentage, and also has 23 blocks.
