The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team took part in the Stevenson Invitational this weekend, and the Chargers went 2-1, falling to 12
th ranked Stevenson on Friday night, 3-1, before rebounding to defeat Nazareth and Loras by identical 3-0 scores on Saturday.

Match Notes: Lancaster Bible lost its second straight close match, as the Chargers won the opening set, and then lost three straight tight sets…The Chargers held late leads in both the third and fourth sets, but couldn't maintain the advantages, and lost by two both matches.

Statistically Speaking: Lancaster Bible had 53 kills and 21 errors on 116 attempts for a .276 hitting percentage, while the Mustangs had 52 kills and 20 errors on 116 attempts for a .276 hitting percentage as well…Lancaster Bible led in digs, 38-36, and blocks, 11-10…

Benjamin Herb each had 17 kills and three blocks…
Zeke Hallman added seven kills and five blocks, while
Jacob Faust had seven kills and six blocks…
Reuben Kemrer added 44 assists and 11 digs to go with four blocks, while
Kurt Maysilles had nine digs.

News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 3-23  all-time against Stevenson…This was the first match between the teams since Feb. 17, 2016 when the Mustangs defeated the Chargers, 3-1 in Lancaster…The Chargers are now 1-1 in true road matches this season…Friday night marked the third straight match with 50 or more kills for the Chargers.

Match Notes: Lancaster Bible cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Golden Flyers, as the Chargers won in straight sets…The Chargers won 10 of 12 points early in the third set to take control of the final set.

Kyran Flahive had nine kills and four blocks, while Hallman and Faust each had five kills…

News & Notes: The Chargers are now 1-2 all-time against Nazareth…Saturday marked the first match between the teams since Mar. 29, 2013 when the Chargers lost to then top-ranked Nazareth, 3-0 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. as part of the Vassar College Invitational…The six aces are the second-most in a match this season for Lancaster Bible.

Match Notes: After a back-and-forth opening set, the Chargers couldn't close the set on their first two set points at 24-23 and 25-24, but leading 26-25, Herb blocked an attack, and gave the frame to the Chargers…Lancaster Bible gave up two different leads in the second set, and then couldn't close the set at 24-22, but after a service error by Loras at 24-24, Herb fired an ace to again give the set to the Chargers…Lancaster Bible trailed 6-5 early in the third set and won the next 13 points for an 18-6 lead and cruised to a third-set victory.

Statistically Speaking: Lancaster Bible had 35 kills and 17 errors on 101 attempts for a .178 hitting percentage…Loras had 37 kills and 22 errors on 118 attempts for a .127 hitting percentage…Lancaster Bible led in aces, 3-1, and digs, 48-47, while each team had seven blocks…Faust and Hallman each had eight kills to lead the Chargers, while Faust added four blocks and eight digs…Flahive had six kills and eight digs, as did Herb who also had two aces and two blocks…Kemrer had 27 more assists to go with his five digs and two kills…Maysilles added seven digs and an assist.

News & Notes: This was the first-ever match between the two teams…The Chargers are now 6-0 neutral site matches this season…Lancaster Bible is 8-1 in the first set of matches this season…The 35 kills against Loras were a season low, and the second time the Chargers have been held to under 40 kills this season, however Lancaster Bible is now 2-0 in those matches…The 48 digs against Loras were a season-high...Maysilles and Faust were named to the All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the tournament.
