The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team had its five-match win streak snapped on Wednesday night at Messiah, as the Chargers lost, 3-1 in Grantham, Pa. The 21-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 loss sends the Chargers to 10-3 overall this season, while Messiah, who received votes in this week's AVCA Division III Top 15 Coaches Poll, is now 7-2 overall.

Match Notes: The first set went back-and-forth, but the Chargers won eight of the final 12 points, including the final three, as
Kole Horst and
Benjamin Herb had kills, before
Kyran Flahive ended the set with an ace…Lancaster Bible tied the second set at 10-10 after trailing early, but Messiah won seven of nine points following that to open up a 17-12 lead, and then won the set, 25-20…The Chargers won six straight points in the middle of the third set and led 17-12, but Messiah fought back to tie the set at 18-18, and held off a late push from the Chargers to earn a 25-23 victory…The fourth set looked a lot like the other three, as the teams exchanged points , and it went down to the wire, as Messiah won, 25-23.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 47 kills and 23 errors on 111 attempts for a .216 hitting percentage…Messiah had 53 kills and 18 errors on 119 attempts for a .294 hitting percentage…The Chargers led in digs, 42-37, while each team had six blocks…
Nate Miller led the Chargers with 16 kills, as he had them against just two errors on 23 attempts for a .609 hitting percentage…Horst finished with 11 kills and three digs, while Herb had seven kills and eight digs…
Zeke Hallman added five kills and three blocks, while
Jacob Faust had three kills and three blocks…
Reuben Kemrer had 38 assists, two kills, and nine digs…Mason Nissley had 16 kills to lead the Falcons.

News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 2-1 all-time against Messiah…The Chargers defeated Messiah, 3-0 last season in Lancaster…Lancaster Bible is 1-2 on the road this season…Despite the loss, Lancaster Bible won the first set, and is now 12-1 in the first set of matches this season…The Chargers posted 42 digs, the fifth time the team has had more than 40 digs in a match this season…All three of Lancaster Bible's losses this season have come in four sets.
