Chargers Sweep Three Matches in Two States

The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team completed a perfect weekend on Friday night and Saturday, as the Chargers earned two more North Eastern Athletic Conference victories, and a non-conference win as well. The Chargers defeated St. Elizabeth, 3-0 on Friday night, before downing SUNY Poly, 3-0, and Medaille, 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. The victories propel the Chargers to 13-3 overall this season, and 4-0 in NEAC play.

Match Notes: Lancaster Bible won eight of nine points midway through the first set to build a lead they wouldn't relinquish, and did the exact same thing in the second set, as the Chargers and Eagles were tied, 10-10, but Lancaster Bible rattled off eight of nine points for an 18-11 lead…The third set looked familiar as well, as the two teams were tied at 15-15, but Lancaster Bible won eight of nine points, and took a 23-16 lead, and the Chargers won the match a few points later.
 
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 39 kills and 17 errors on 78 attempts for a .282 hitting percentage, while St. Elizabeth had 15 kills and 17 errors on 61 attempts for a -.033 hitting percentage…The Chargers led 11-2 in aces, and 6-2 in blocks…Nate Miller led the Chargers with 14 kills, while Benjamin Herb had seven kills…Kyran Flahive added four kills and three aces, while Reuben Kemrer had 34 assists, three aces, and two blocks.
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 4-0 all-time against St. Elizabeth…The Chargers are 2-2 in true road matches…The 11 service aces are the second time this season the Chargers have had double-digit aces in a match.

Match Notes: The Chargers led early in the first set, but had to hang on and win a close first set, taking it 25-21, after leading just 19-18 late in the set…Lancaster Bible took an early lead in the second set and never looked back, taking it 25-11, as Zeke Hallman and Miller had kills in the middle portion of the set to help the Chargers pull away…SUNY Poly led, 11-7 in the third set before the Chargers woke up and went on an 8-4 run to tie the set at 15-15…The Wildcats led 18-17 late in the set, but the Chargers won the final eight points of the match to earn the 25-18 win.
 
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 32 kills and 13 errors on 67 attacks for a .284 hitting percentage…SUNY Poly had 24 kills and 16 errors on 65 attempts for a .123 hitting percentage…The Chargers led in aces, 9-3, and digs, 20-18…Kole Horst, Miller, and Herb each had eight kills to lead the Chargers…Flahive added five aces.
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 14-7 all-time against SUNY Poly…Flahive's five aces tie a career-high which he also set against SUNY Poly…Flahive had five aces in Lancaster Bible's win on March 30, 2019 in Utica, N.Y.

Match Notes: Lancaster Bible won six straight points midway through the first set, and then five straight late in the set for a 25-15 set one win…Lancaster Bible won 10 of 13 points midway through the second set to pull away and earn a 25-13 win, and then pulled away late in the third set with six of seven points for a 25-19 victory.
 
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 34 kills and 12 errors on 68 attempts for a .324 hitting percentage…Medaille had 25 kills and 17 errors on 60 attempts for a .133 hitting percentage…The Chargers led in blocks, 4-1, and aces, 10-1…Miller led the way again with 18 kills, and also added two blocks and an ace…Horst had five kills and four digs, while Hallman had three kills and four blocks…Kemrer added 29 assists and two aces as well for the Chargers.
