The Lancaster Bible College women's basketball team extended its winning streak to seven games on Wednesday night in Williamsport, Pa., defeating Penn College, 70-50. The Chargers are now 10-11 overall, and 8-4 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Wildcats dropped to 5-15 overall and 2-10 in NEAC action. The Chargers have not lost since Jan. 17 at Penn St. Harrisburg, and can clinch the NEAC South Division with a win next Wednesday at Penn St. Abington.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible led 6-2 in the early going, as
Lizzy Tilton scored four of the team's first six points. Tilton kept scoring in the first quarter, and after another bucket from her,
Caitlin Hickey added a jumper, and the Chargers led, 13-4 with 1:48 remaining in the opening quarter.

Lancaster Bible led by six after one quarter of play, and maintained that lead for the first part of the second quarter, but the Chargers used a 6-0 run to open up an 11-point lead at 23-12.
Jordyn Beers got the run started, and
Mikayla Via finished with the final four points, as the Chargers led by double digits with 3:20 to play. Hickey starred in the final 90 seconds of the first half, as she knocked down a jumper, and then hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Lancaster Bible a 29-17 advantage at the break.

The Chargers continued to grow the lead throughout the third quarter, and opened up a 20-point lead late in the frame, as Hickey hit another late 3-pointer, and then scored again at the buzzer, to help Lancaster Bible to a 54-34 lead after 30 minutes of play.

Lancaster Bible stormed out of the gate in the fourth quarter, and used an 11-1 run over a three-minute span to take a 65-37 lead. Hickey and Tilton combined for all 11 points during the run, and the Chargers cruised the rest of the way for their seventh straight victory.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot 44.8 percent (30-of-67) from the field, including 5-of-16 from 3-point range…Penn College shot 34.4 percent (21-of-61) from the floor, but was just 2-of-16 from beyond the arc…Lancaster Bible held a 44-28 edge in rebounds, and the Chargers only turned the ball over 11 times…Hickey led the Chargers with 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting, and also added four rebounds and three assists…Tilton finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, as she was 9-of-14 from the field…

Jordyn Beers had four points, 12 rebounds, and three assists…
Adalyn Steiner added five points and six boards…Cassi Kuhns led the Wildcats with 16 points.

Katelyn Vanderhoff said. "I thought we handled the boards well, and did lots of little things well too. We struggled offensively a bit in the first half, and couldn't find the right shots, but eventually got into a nice rhythm, and were able to put points on the board."
