The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team dropped its third straight game to open the 2020 season on Friday, as the Chargers lost to Houghton, 21-14 at the Donald H. Funk Field. The Chargers are now 0-3 this season, while the Highlanders improved to 1-0.

How it Happened: Houghton scored four the game's first five goals, as Lancaster Bible got an early goal from
Kendal Ream, but trailed, 4-1 after nine minutes of action. The Chargers strung together two straight goals in 30 seconds however, and trailed just 4-3 after goals from
Cheyanne Seber and
Hope Privitera.

The Highlanders scored the next six goals of the contest however, and took a 10-3 lead on Mary Doell's fourth goal of the game.
Camryn Horst and Ream scored 24 seconds apart for the Chargers to cut the deficit to five with 3:36 to play, but Houghton scored twice in the final 13 seconds of the half, and led 12-5 after 30 minutes of play.

Houghton opened the scoring in the second half, but Lancaster Bible scored five of the next six goals, and trailed just 14-10 after
Kaitlyn Myers' first goal of the season. Ream scored twice during the run, while
Brooke Breon and Privitera scored as well. The Highlanders responded with five of the next six goals, and Marissa Hews' goal with 8:29 to play put Houghton in front 19-11 and effectively ended the game.

By the Numbers: Houghton led in shots, 45-26, including 33-19 in shots on goal…The Highlanders also led in ground balls, 19-18, and in draw controls, 25-11…Ream finished with six goals and an assist, and she also had nine draw controls…
Camryn Horst had three goals, and picked up three ground balls as well…Privitera added two goals and three assists, while Breon had five ground balls…
Emma Thomann made 12 saves for the Chargers…Doell finished with seven goals to lead the Highlanders.
