How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible Women's Volleyball team dropped the opening match to defending United East Conference Champions, Morrisville St. by a score of 3-0 at Penn State Abington on Saturday, October 9.

The Chargers would jump out to a 5-1 lead in the first set powered by a pair of kills from
Cassidy King. Later in the set
Chloe King would slam down a kill helping the Chargers maintain a three-point lead. Morrisville St. would get rolling going on a 10-1 run to seize momentum and take a 13-8 lead. The Chargers tried to claw back in the match pulling back within three after a service ace by
Leah Helman. The teams would trade points until a kill by
Sheyenne King and service ace by
Cassidy King tied the score at 19. The Mustangs would win five of the last six points taking the first set 25-22.

Morrisville St. jumped out to an early 5-1 advantage in the second set. The Chargers struggled to slow the Mustangs hitters falling behind by ten points.
Morgan Fenstermacher and
Brittany Martin smash kills trying to get the Chargers back into the game. The Mustangs would reel off seven of the last eight points to take the second set 25-11.

The Chargers would jump out to 3-0 lead in third set before Morrisville St. went on a 6-0 run to retake the lead. The Chargers would try to keep pace pulling within a single point several times throughout the set but could not recapture the lead. Morrisville St. scored the final three points sweeping the Chargers in straight sets.

How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College Women's Volleyball team rebounded from their earlier defeat picking up a key United East Conference win over Penn State Abington in straight sets on Saturday, October 9.
The Charger's offense traded points with Penn State Abington taking an early 6-5 lead.
Morgan Fenstermacher smashed a kill sparking a 7-0 run by the Chargers allowing them to take control of the first set. A
Brittany Martin kill and a pair of service aces by
Kate Stoltzfus helped the Chargers increase the lead to 12 midway through the set. The Chargers would close the set on a 6-1 run with
Leah Helman and Martin putting an exclamation point on the set by smashing a kill each.
Penn State Abington jumped out to an early 7-4 lead in the second set. Fenstermacher swung momentum back towards LBC with a thunderous kill to pull the Chargers back within a point. LBC would retake the lead after a kill by Martin.
Cassidy King extended the advantage to three with a kill midway through the set.
Cassidy King and
Chloe King would deliver timely kills to help LBC extend their advantage to six points. From there the Chargers would roll to a 25-17 victory in the second set with Stoltzfus closing the set with a service ace.
The third set saw the teams trade the lead back-and-forth eventually with a score being tied at ten. Behind the excellent serves of Stoltzfus,
Cassidy King would fire five kills helping the Chargers go on a 9-0 run taking full control of the set.
Leah Helman would secure the victory with one final kill, taking the set 25-14.

Who's Next
The Women's Volleyball team will host Eastern University on Tuesday, October 12 at 7:00 p.m. This game will be a Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness with all proceeds from the game going toward the Cancer Care Ministry.
