How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College Field Hockey team scored a 5-0 victory on the road at Bryn Athyn Saturday afternoon. The win marked back-to-back CSAC victories to end conference play.Â
Â
It didn't take long for LBC (3-13 Overall, 2-5 CSAC) to get on the board. Just 3:05 into the contest,
Hannah Hoffman scored her first of two goals on the day. Less than two minutes later, sophomore
Rylee Hannon would rattle the cage to give the Chargers a 2-0 advantage which would carry into the second period. With the back line transferring the ball and
Amanda Wise controlling the middle of the field for much of the first half, the freshman tandem of
Bethany Snyder and
Molly Gray would hook up for an assisted goal early in the second period. The goal was Gray's ninth of the season. With a 14-1 shot advantage, the Chargers headed into half with a commanding 3-0 lead.Â
Â
LBC would stay clean with the ball and control possession throughout the third period. However, the Bryn Athyn (0-11 Overall, 0-6 CSAC) defense would thwart all six shots to keep the Chargers off the board. Gray and Hoffman would add goals at the 46:28 and 48:25 mark respectively to round out the scoring.Â
Â
Inside The Numbers
- Molly Gray's two goals extends her modern era single season goal mark to 10, and her 21 points on the season becomes a modern era program record as well
- LBC is now 2-0 head-to-head with Bryn Athyn
- Bethany Snyder tallied her second assist of the season
- First year player Rylee Hannon has scored goals in back-to-back conference games
- Keeper Alexis Garrett recorded a clean sheet for the second time in three contests
