How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team picked up a United East Conference victory over St. Mary's College of Maryland by a score of 3-0 on Saturday, October 30.

The Charger's offense would get rolling early in the first set when Cassidy King ripped off three straight kills to put LBC ahead 6-3. St. Mary's would surge back, taking a 9-7 lead on an Ashley Welch service ace. Suzanna Rouse responded with a service ace of her own, sparking a 6-0 run. Kate Stoltzfus would power the run, slamming down three of her game high 14 kills. The Chargers continued to hold the advantage, extending the lead to five after a 3-0 run made the score 19-14. LBC would close out the set with a thunderous kill by Stoltzfus giving the Chargers a 1-0 lead in the match.

LBC would trade points early in the second set. Tied at five, the Chargers used kills by Chloe King and Stoltzfus to launch a 3-0 run. St. Mary's continued to fight back, eventually tying the game at 12. Trailing by one, Cassidy King crushed a kill to swing momentum back in LBC's favor. The Chargers ripped off five straight points taking an 18-14 lead. Moments later, four different Chargers recorded kills capped off by a kill from Emma Schaeffer, giving LBC a seven-point advantage. Stoltzfus would again close the set, hammering one more kill.

Trailing by two sets, St. Mary's jumped out to a fast start in the third set, holding a 5-1 advantage. LBC would slowly start to reel the Seahawks in, taking advantage of three St. Mary's hitting errors to even the game at five. Mistakes continued to hurt the Seahawks, allowing LBC to take a 9-7 lead. Later in the set, the Chargers ripped off five straight points thanks to three kills by Cassidy King. In full control of the set, LBC would roll to a 25-19 set victory, clinching the win.
 
Inside The Numbers
- Kate Stoltzfus posted a double-double racking up 14 kills and 11 digs
- Cassidy King also recorded a double-double, totaling 13 kills and 15 digs
- Emma Schaeffer and Leah Helman combined to distribute 32 assists, with Schaeffer recording 21 assists
- Suzanna Rouse recorded 11 digs
- The Chargers doubled the Seahawks kill total, holding a 40-20 edge
- St. Mary's was led by Taylor Wigglesworth who had nine kills

How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible women's volleyball team powered past Wells College in their regular season finale, winning in straight sets.

Before the match, LBC took a few moments to honor the five senior members of the team: Suzanna Rouse, Cassidy King, Maelynne Patey, Kate Stoltzfus and Rebecca Godshall.

The Chargers immediately took charge of the first set, racing out to a 6-1 lead. Cassidy King powered LBC's offense smashing four early kills, part of her 18-kill performance. The lead would continue to grow, with LBC running off six straight points midway through the set. The Chargers would win four of the final five points in the set, behind two more kills from King.

LBC once again rolled to an early 6-1 advantage in the second set. Cassidy King and Sheyenne King each smashed kills helping the Chargers pull away. Wells tried to battle back closing within two-points, midway through the set. After an Express service error, Chloe King would slam down a kill, helping LBC retake a five-point advantage. Leading 16-12, Cassidy and Kate Stoltzfus each hammered kills to spark a 4-0 run, taking a commanding lead in the set. Once again, the Chargers won four of the final five points, securing the 25-15 set victory.

After LBC got off to an early five-point lead in the third set, Wells battled back to trail 12-8 midway through the set. Brittany Martin would slam down a kill, taking back control of the serve. Martin would then serve ten consecutive points recording two services aces in the run. Cassidy King would close the rally by slamming down one more kill, giving the Chargers a 22-8 lead. King would close out the victory, smashing one last kill.

- Wells was led by Drown and Sanders who each had four kills

Who's Next
After finishing 4-4 in conference play, the Chargers ended the season in a three-way tie with SUNY Morrisville and St. Mary's for the final playoff spot. LBC dropped the tiebreaker based on set winning percentage. The Chargers will look to regroup, rebuild, and return improved next fall with a solid nucleus returning.
