How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team fell in the United East Semifinals to top-seeded Penn State Harrisburg by a score of 3-0 on Saturday, November 6.
The Chargers were on the defensive early, as Penn St. Harrisburg pressed the attack. The Lions fired a pair of shots, but goalkeeper
Erin Mikula was up for the challenge, making a pair of saves. Penn St. Harrisburg's Eden Haldeman scored in the 15
th minute, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead. The Chargers tried to create an answer, but the team could not consistently string together passes. In the closing seconds of the half, Penn St. Harrisburg would score off a corner kick, extending the lead to 2-0.
In the second half, LBC maintained more of the possession, but could not generate scoring chances. The team's lone shot on goal came in the 73
rd minute when on a counterattack
Kara Huber launched a shot that was saved. The Lions tacked on one final goal in the 81
st minute, securing the 3-0 victory.

"Obviously it was not a great day for us," said Head Coach
Jake Warren. "We really struggled to make the game difficult for Harrisburg. But we have to feel good about the season as a whole. We have established ourselves as a competitor in the United East. But we have to make some improvements to get over that final hurdle and become a contender."

Who's Next
The 2021 women's soccer season has concluded. The Chargers will look to regroup, rebuild, and return improved next fall with a solid nucleus returning.
