The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team had an impressive Wednesday night, as the No. 12 Chargers took both matches of a doubleheader from No. 13 Kean. Lancaster Bible won the opener, 3-1, and then battled back from two sets down in the second match to complete a 3-2 comeback victory. The Chargers are now 4-3 overall, while the Cougars are 0-2.

Match Recap: Lancaster Bible took an early lead in the first set, 8-3, but Kean battled back and cut the Chargers' lead to 13-11 midway through the set. The Chargers won the next six points however, and took a 19-11 lead on a service ace from
Kyran Flahive.

Lancaster Bible eventually took the opening set on a Kean service error, and carried that into the second set, earning an early 11-5 lead thanks to an ace from
Hunter Davis. The Cougars once again battled back, and eventually took a 16-15 lead, but the Chargers hung tough, and eventually grabbed the second set, 25-21 after an error by Kean.

Kean didn't quit, and outplayed the Chargers in the third set, taking it 25-20, but Lancaster Bible regained its form in the fourth set, and raced out to an 11-2 lead. Lancaster Bible led the rest of the set, and clinched the match on a kill from
Zac Keating.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 38 kills and 16 errors on 102 attempts for a .216 hitting percentage, while the Cougars had 35 kills and 26 errors on 116 attempts for a .078 attack percentage…Lancaster Bible held an 11-4 advantage in blocks, though the Cougars led the Chargers, 10-7 in aces…Flahive led the Chargers with 12 kills and added four aces and three blocks, while

Match Recap: Lancaster Bible led, 20-19 late in the opening set, but Kean won six of the final seven points of the stanza and took the opener, 25-21. The Cougars pulled the same trick in the second set as well, and took three of the final four points of the frame for a 25-23 victory, as Seth Russell's ace gave Kean a 2-0 lead.

Kean led 5-1 early in the third set, but the Chargers slowly got back into the match, and the score was once again tight for the majority of the set. Kean had a match point at 24-23 after a kill from Russell, but a kill from
Kole Horst tied the set at 24-24, and back-to-back kills from Herb gave the frame to the Chargers, 26-24.

The fourth set appeared to be going Lancaster Bible's way as well, as the Chargers led, 12-6, but six straight points off solid serving from Alex Overhoff tied the frame at 12-12. Lancaster Bible regained its footing, and a kill from Flahive gave the Chargers some breathing room at 21-18. Kean responded with two points, but after a big block assist from
Caleb Roberts and Flahive to make it 22-20, Flahive ended it a few points later with a thunderous kill that gave the Chargers a 25-21 set victory.
The fifth set belonged to Lancaster Bible, as the Chargers won the first seven points, and never looked back. With the Chargers leading 14-5, Roberts blasted one more kill and secured Lancaster Bible's five-set victory.
