The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team won its fourth straight match on Friday night at Horst Athletic Center, sweeping past Wilson, 3-0. The 14^th ranked Chargers improved to 6-3 this season thanks to a 25-6, 25-7, 25-4 victory over the Phoenix.
 
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible jumped on the Phoenix in the first set, as the Chargers opened up a 7-2 lead after a kill from Joshua Barnes and a Wilson error. After the Phoenix earned a point, Lancaster Bible won the next 12 points, and took a 19-3 advantage after a kill from Caleb Roberts and a Wilson attack error. Tanner Shertzer gave the first set to the Chargers with a kill, and Lancaster Bible had a quick 1-0 lead.
 
 Lancaster Bible opened with another big run in the second set, and led 12-1 after a kill from Kevin Koch, and a service ace from Daniel Keene. The Chargers kept up the pace, and after splitting the final four points, the Chargers had a 2-0 match lead.
 
The Chargers raced out to an 11-0 lead after an ace from Shertzer, and eventually led 19-1 after kills from Darien Colburn and Ethan Sensenig, and a Wilson error. Lancaster Bible won the match a few points later thanks to a block assist from Keene and Konrad Martin.
 
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 34 kills and five errors on 48 attempts for a .604 hitting percentage…Wilson had two kills and 15 errors on 40 attempts for a -.325 attack percentage…The Chargers led in aces, 17-0, and 5-1 in blocks…Barnes led the Chargers with seven kills, and also chipped in with two aces…Keene finished with six kills, two aces, and two blocks, while Colburn had two kills and a team-high six aces…Shertzer finished with four aces, seven digs, and 19 assists, while Roberts and Koch each had four kills and two blocks…Sensenig had five kills and two digs, and Martin had four kills, four assists, two aces, and three digs...Oliver Perry and Andrew Hetzer each had a kill for Wilson.
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 10-0 all-time against Wilson…The .604 hitting percentage is the highest mark in program history, beating the previous mark of .583 set against Lakeland on Jan. 17, 2020…The 17 aces are the second-most in program history, trailing the program mark by one, which was set against St. Elizabeth on Mar. 22, 2018…Colburn's six aces are tied for the second-most in program history, and is just one short of the program record of seven set by Brent Hurst on Feb. 13, 2010 at the City College of New York.
