The Coach Says: "I'm very proud of our defensive effort today," Lancaster Bible Head Coach
Jon Mack said. "We held our opponent under 40 percent shooting in each half, and we scored 60 points off 40 defensive stops. I thought the last 15 minutes, our defensive effort and offensive execution was working in sync for the first time this season, which eventually led to our separation and victory."
Â
On the Fighting Squirrels: "Mary Baldwin has some talented players that can make plays, and I thought we did a good job guarding the ball and disrupting their offense," Mack said.
Â
On Shewbridge's standout performance: "I thought Shew's impact on the defensive end of the floor was equally or better than his offensive impact, and he was pretty good on that end as well," Mack explained.
Â
News & Notes: Because the game was an exhibition, the statistics from today's game do not count, but the 34 points scored for Shewbridge would have been the second-most of his collegiate career…His career best is a 36-point effort which came against Gallaudet on Feb. 8, 2020…Shewbridge's eight 3-pointers also would have tied the program-record for most triples in a single game…Mary Baldwin will compete in the USA South Conference next season.
