The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team won its first-ever NCCAA Division I National Tournament contest on Thursday evening, as the fifth-seeded Chargers crushed eighth-seeded SAGU American Indian College (Ariz.), 107-51 in Winona Lake, Ind. Lancaster Bible is now 12-4 this season and will face Columbia International (S.C.) in Friday Night's 5
th Place Game.

How it Happened: SAGU American Indian led 4-2 over the first 1:55 of the game, but Lancaster Bible junior
Jordan Shewbridge drained a 3-pointer two minutes into the contest and kicked off a 14-0 run over a three-minute span, and the Chargers led 16-4 after a triple from freshman
Grant Sareyka 4:03 into the opening half.

The Chargers' lead would be cut to six, 17-11 six minutes into the half, but three straight baskets from freshman
Andrew Zentner put Lancaster Bible ahead, 23-11 with 12:42 remaining in the half. Lancaster Bible's offense continued to fire on all cylinders throughout the first half and a 17-0 run over a six-minute span increased the lead to 40-13 with 6:30 to play in the half. Six different players had baskets during the run, including seniors
Tyler Norris and
Britton Beachy.

Lancaster Bible scored at will throughout the opening frame, and a three-point play from Shewbridge with 1:20 left in the half gave Lancaster Bible its first 30-point lead of the game at 50-20.
Britton Beachy had the final five points of the half for the Chargers, and his layup as time expired gave Lancaster Bible a 57-20 lead at the break.

The Chargers opened the second half on an 11-2 run, and
Tyler Hilton's 3-pointer 2:22 into the half gave Lancaster Bible a 66-22 lead. The lead grew to 50 points midway through the half, as
Adam Stoltzfus took a pass from
Britton Beachy and put the Chargers ahead 82-32 with 10:59 to play.
Jordan Praylow and
Ty Erisman had 3-pointers during the second half, while
Caleb Carpenter added points as well.
Isaiah Mitchell scored the final point for the Chargers, while
Kobe Devine contributed points and assists, and
Jackson Whitt pulled down rebounds.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot 64.6 percent (42-of-65) from the floor, including 51.7 percent (15-of-29) from 3-point range…SAGU American Indian shot 35.4 percent (23-of-65) from the field, but just 25 percent (4-of-16) from beyond the arc…The Chargers held a 41-27 advantage on the boards, and outscored the Warriors, 52-30, in the paint…Shewbridge finished with a game-high 21 points on 7-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range…Hilton added 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-9 from 3-point range, while fellow senior Britton Beach had 12 points, seven assists, and three rebounds…Zentner had 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, while Sareyka also had 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting…Stoltzfus chipped in with eight points and six boards, while Erisman finished with five points and five rebounds…The Warriors were led by Don Morgan's 15 points.

News & Notes: This was the first-ever matchup between the two schools…SAGU American Indian is located in Phoenix, Ariz…The 64.6 percent shooting from the field is a season-best for the Chargers, and the highest mark since Lancaster Bible 72.2 percent (39-of-54) from the floor in a 102-87 victory over Penn St. Berks on Jan. 31, 2018…The 51.7 percent mark from 3-point range is also a season-high…Thursday was the second time this season Lancaster Bible has scored 100 or more points…Shewbridge's 21 points are the eighth time this season he has cracked the 20-point mark…Beachy's seven assists were one off his season-high of eight which he had on Feb. 26 at Bryn Athyn.
