The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team opened North Eastern Athletic Conference with an offensive explosion on Saturday, as the Chargers defeated La Roche, 23-6 in Pittsburg, Pa. The Chargers are now 2-2 overall this season and 1-0 in conference play, while the Red Hawks dropped to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in conference action.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible freshman
Katelynn Perrotta opened the scoring just 44 seconds into the contest, while teammate
Kendal Ream doubled the lead 15 seconds later.
Camryn Horst took the next draw down the field and scored again for the Chargers who led, 3-1 before La Roche's Jasey Reiser scored the first goal in Red Hawks history 1:56 into the game.

Ream and Perrotta scored back-to-back goals again, while
Brooke Breon got on the board 4:44 into the game to make it 6-1 in favor of the Chargers. Perrotta scored her third and fourth goals of the opening 10 minutes to make it 8-1, and after a Red Hawks goal, Horst scored again for Lancaster Bible to make it 9-2 ten minutes into the contest.

Senior
Kaitlyn Myers scored less than two minutes later, and Breon's second of the day midway through the half expanded Lancaster Bible's lead to 12-3.
Kayla Steiner scored her first of the day with just over 10 minutes to play in the half, and Horst scored with 3:54 left in the half to produce the halftime score, 15-5.

Lancaster Bible continued to dominate in the second half, as Horst, Steiner, and Ream netted goals in the first 10 minutes of the frame.
Paige Beidler scored her first collegiate goal, while
Natalie Boltz scored later in the half.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible held a 35-18 advantage in shots, as well as a 23-11 edge in ground balls…The Chargers led 17-13 in draw controls and were 16-of-17 on clearing attempts…Perrotta led the Chargers with seven goals and eight points, while Horst had five goals and two assists…Ream finished with three goals and two helpers, while Steiner also netted three goals…Breon had two goals and an assist, and also led the Chargers with five ground balls…
Alexis Garrett picked up her second win of the season with three saves…Jade Chalmers and Cecillia Liguori each had two goals to pace La Roche.

News & Notes: This was the first-ever meeting between the two teams, and La Roche's first-ever varsity contest…The Red Hawks are associate members of the NEAC for women's lacrosse…The 23 goals are a season-high, and the third-most in program history…Saturday marks just the fifth time in program history the Chargers have scored 20 or more goals in a game…Perrotta's seven goals are a career-high…This is the first time in program history the Chargers have opened NEAC play with a victory.
