The Lancaster Bible College men's tennis team won its third straight match on Saturday, as the Chargers celebrated Senior Day with a 7-2 victory over Penn College at Hempfield Rec Center in Landisville, Pa.

Lancaster Bible is now 5-1 overall and 2-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Wildcats fell to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in NEAC action.

Doubles: Lancaster Bible's No. 1 team of
Devon Clemmer and
Tyler Norris played a back-and-forth match, but came up just short, losing 8-7 (10-8). The No. 2 team of
Malachi Bomgardner and
AJ Kwiatkowski earned an 8-0 victory, and the No. 3 team of
Keven Vallette and
Micah Weaver won 8-1 to give Lancaster Bible a 2-1 lead after doubles play.

Singles: Clemmer battled in his singles match as well, and despite taking the second set, lost, 6-1, 5-7, 10-8. Norris earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles, and Weaver won, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Bomgardner won, 6-0, 6-0 against Zack Burkhart at No. 4 singles, Vallette won, 6-0, 6-0 as well at No. 5 singles. Kwiatkowski was victorious as well at No. 6 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0.

Micah Weaver swung the racket as well as he has all year long, and Devon battled really hard against a very good opponent today."

News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 4-2 all-time against Penn College…This was the first matchup between the teams since March 29, 2019 when the Chargers defeated the Wildcats, 5-4…Vallette continued his undefeated run through the 2021 season, as he improved to 6-0 overall in singles play, and 5-0 in doubles action…Kwiatkowski is still unbeaten in singles action this season, as he improved to 6-0 this season well.
