Chargers Gallop Past Mounties on Senior Night

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team wrapped up the second seed in the upcoming North Eastern Athletic Conference Playoffs with a resounding 21-9 victory over Mount Aloysius on Friday night at the Donald H. Funk Field. The Chargers celebrated Senior Night with their fifth win of the year, and now sit at 5-3 overall and 3-1 in NEAC play, while the Mounties fell to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in NEAC action.
 
Lancaster Bible will host third-seeded Wells on Sunday at 5 p.m. in the NEAC Semifinals. The other NEAC Semifinal will feature top seed Morrisville State against fourth-seeded Mount Aloysius.
 
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible opened the scoring just 48 seconds into the contest, as Kendal Ream scored the first of her seven goals. Mount Aloysius tied the game less than two minutes later, but the Chargers took the lead back on Kaitlyn Myers' 10th goal of the year. The Mounties tied the game again on McKenzie Lasinski's first goal of the year, but Lancaster Bible took over from there as the Charger scored the next five goals of the game.
 
Katelynn Perrotta netted three goals during the 5-0 run, while Ream and Camryn Horst added the others. After another Mounties goal, Lancaster Bible scored four more times, two of which came from Ream. Lancaster Bible scored the last three goals of the half as well, and took a 14-5 lead into the break.
 
Perrotta and Kayla Steiner scored early in the second half for the Chargers, and Steiner's second goal of the frame made it 17-5, and the Chargers never looked back, winning for the second time in six days against the Mounties.
 
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible outshot Mount Aloysius, 40-19, including 31-14 in shots on goal…Lancaster Bible also held a 13-6 edge in ground balls, and a 20-12 advantage in draw controls…Ream finished with eight goals and an assist, while Perrotta had seven goals and an assist…Myers had two goals on Senior Night, while fellow senior Camryn Horst had a goal and an assist…Steiner finished with three goals and two assists, while Amanda Hay added an assist as well…Alexis Garrett made five saves to earn her fifth win of the year.
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 2-0 all-time against Mount Aloysius, and both wins have come in the past week…The Chargers defeated the Mounties, 23-6 last Sunday in Cresson, Pa…Lancaster Bible is now 3-2 at home this season, and has won three straight…Lancaster Bible will be making just its second-ever NEAC postseason appearance on Sunday…Perrotta finished the regular season with 34 goals, while Ream has 31 through eight games…Lancaster Bible honored seniors Gabby Berry, Camryn Horst, and Kaitlyn Myers prior to the contest.
