Lancaster Bible Headed to NEAC Final

The Lancaster Bible College women's tennis team earned an 8-1 over Penn College on Tuesday in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Semifinals, as the Chargers advanced to their second consecutive NEAC Final. Lancaster Bible is now 6-3 overall this season, while the Wildcats dropped to 2-3. The Chargers will face Penn St. Harrisburg in the NEAC Final, as Penn St. Harrisburg defeated Penn St. Berks in the other NEAC Semifinal.
 
Doubles: The No. 3 doubles team of Kaitlin Kirby and Chloe Campbell got the Chargers on the board first, as they defeated Marcie Harman and Shelby Lanyon, 8-2. The No. 1 doubles team of Deanna Graber and Cara DiCiano made it 2-0, as they defeated Coryn Oswald and Delaney Bouton, 8-1. The No 2 team of Haylee Fishel and Kenedi Berkhimer won as well, taking down Georgia Macensky and Amber Leitzel, 8-4.
 
Singles: DiCiano earned the first singles win for the Chargers, as she defeated Bouton, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Graber then clinched the match for the Chargers, as she defeated Oswald, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles to give Lancaster Bible their fifth point.
 
Haylee Fishel was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at No. 3 singles, while Penn College picked up its lone point at No. 4 singles, as Amber Leitzel defeated Berkhimer, 6-4, 0-6, 10-8. Kaitlin Kirby was a 7-5, 6-2 winner at No. 5 singles, and Chloe Campbell won, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 6-1 all-time against Penn College…The Chargers defeated the Wildcats, 5-4 during the regular season…Lancaster Bible played in the NEAC Final during the 2019 season as well, but fell to Penn St. Abington, 5-3 to that year…This marks the fourth straight season the Chargers have won six or more matches…DiCiano improved to 8-1 overall this season in singles play.
