How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College Men's Soccer team battled Goucher to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday, September 28.
The Chargers' offense was in rhythm early, creating several scoring chances.
Jackson Shreiner missed on a pair of shot attempts, the second a ball that he headed over the cross bar. LBC would break through, scoring in the 29
th minute when
Michael Eufemia gathered a ball just across the midfield stripe and dribbled just outside the 18-yard box. Eufemia fired a shot into the bottom corner of the net for the game's first goal. Goucher would answer moments later, tying the game at one. LBC would continue to push the pace, firing three more shots, but the game remained tied at the half.
In the second half, both teams continued to create scoring chances with the Chargers taking eight shots. The Chargers' best scoring chances came in the last two minutes of the half.
Clark Shreiner fired a shot that Goucher's goalkeeper tipped the ball away.
Chad Tolson would rip a shot that missed wide in the 88
th minute. Neither team could score, sending the game into overtime. In overtime, the Chargers would get off three shots but could not find a game-winning goal. The game ended in a 1-1 tie.
