Lancaster Bible 3, Webber International 2
(23-25, 15-25, 25-22, 25-19 & 15-13)

How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team rallied after dropping the first two sets to take down Webber International by a score of 3-2 on Friday, January 14.

The Chargers (3-0 Overall) traded points with the Warriors in the opening set, taking a 13-11 lead midway through the set. The set remained highly contested with Eiljah Herb slamming down one of his game-high 22 kills, to tie the set at 23. Webber International (0-1) captured the set, winning the final two points. The Warriors then used a 8-0 midway through the second set to take firm control, eventually picking up the 25-15 set victory.

Trailing 2-0, the Chargers had to find their rhythm in the third set. Kills from Hunter Davis, Kole Horst, and Dawson Forney got the Chargers rolling early in the set. LBC used a 7-1 run to take a five-point lead midway through the set. The Chargers continued to grow the lead, taking a nine-point advantage after another kill from Herb. The Warriors battled back, closing with three points late in the set. Herb closed out the set victory with a thunderous kill.

LBC used the momentum from their third set victory to grab and early 4-1 lead in the fourth set. The Chargers maintain the lead throughout most of the set, thanks in part to the efforts of starting setter Tanner Shertzer. Shertzer recorded 52 assists which are the fifth most in a game in school history. Leading 14-11, the Chargers sparked by a service ace from Dawson Forney launched into a 5-0 run, taking firm control of the set. Forney closed out the fourth set with a kill sending the match into a fifth and final set.

The Chargers grabbed the lead in the fifth set, using a 3-0 run to take a 6-4 lead. Webber International rallied back, tying the set at 10 points apiece. Herb and Horst smashed back-to-back kills, allowing LBC to retake a 12-10 advantage. The teams would trade points, with Horst crushing one last kill to secure the 15-13 fifth set victory.
