How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College women's basketball team dominated Penn St. Berks defeating the Lions 90-19 on Saturday, January 15.

The Chargers (7-7 Overall, 4-1 United East) started fast, with Jenna Dombach swishing a 3-pointer on the team's first possession of the game. Emma Drouillard scored back-to-back layups in transition to put LBC ahead 7-0. Dombach added a layup to close out a 9-0 run to open the game. Penn St. Berks (0-11 Overall, 0-4 United East) connected on a 3-pointer to halt the run momentarily. Jade Eshelman scored a layup off a missed shot, giving a seven-point lead. The Chargers went on a 13-0 run, powered by 3-pointers from Mikayla Via and Sydney Heller, taking a 22-3 lead with 2:55 remaining in the first quarter. The Chargers continued to grow the advantage with Heller closing the opening quarter by draining a 3-pointer just before the buzzer, giving LBC a 32-7 lead going into the second quarter.

The Chargers' defense controlled the second quarter, holding the Lions to five total points in the quarter. Adalyn Steiner started the offense battling for an offensive rebound and converting a layup and drawing a foul. She completed the three-point play, putting LBC ahead 37-7. Grace Martin completed a three-point play of her own, putting the Chargers ahead by 33 points. Later in the quarter, Drouillard swiped the ball and found Eshelman in transition to put LBC ahead by 34. The Chargers continued to push the advantage with Dombach closing the half by hitting one more 3-pointer to LBC a 51-12 lead at the half.

LBC continued rolling in the third quarter, with Dombach draining a 3-pointer to open the half. The Chargers went on a 20-0 run to open the quarter, leading by 59 points with 3:25 seconds left in the quarter. The Chargers defense held Penn St. Berks to two points in the third quarter. Heller would add one more layup before the end of quarter, taking a 75-14 lead into the final quarter. The Chargers kept dominating the game in the fourth quarter, growing the lead to as large as 71 points. LBC closed out the victory, winning 90-19.

- Jenna Dombach led the Chargers' offense, scoring 17 points going 3-3 from beyond the arc

"Our primary goal today was to become a better version of ourselves," said head coach Joy Tharrington. "I thought we did an excellent job of that today, reaching that goal. This was a great bounce back win for us."
