How It Happened

Adalyn Steiner got the scoring started, knocking down a jumper off of a Jade Eshelman steal. Wells responded quickly, making a pair of baskets to take an early 4-2 lead. Jenna Dombach tied the game at four with a jumper on the next possession. After taking a 9-8 lead, another jumper by the Chargers (9-10, 6-4 United East) sent LBC into the break with an 11-8 advantage.

The Chargers got off to a good start in the second quarter, going on a 9-0 run to open the period, sparked by 3-point makes by both Sydney Heller and Hope Hodges. After the Express (1-17, 1-9 United East) halted the run with a layup, LBC scored the next seven points, capped off by a 3-pointer from the hands of Emma Drouillard. Drouillard led the team in scoring with 13 points. Wells added a pair of free throws at the end of the quarter, but the Chargers held a 30-12 lead at halftime.

Dombach hit a 3-pointer in the first minute of the third quarter, extending the LBC lead to 33-12. Over the next five minutes, Lancaster Bible went on another 9-0 run to increase their advantage to 28 points. After Wells knocked down a jump shot, Drouillard proceeded to hit her second 3-pointer of the game, with the Chargers entering the final period with a 45-18 lead.

It was all Chargers in the fourth quarter of play, with Mikayla Via scoring six in a row for LBC propelling the team to a 31-point lead. Steiner and Faith Hammond also got in on the scoring, each hitting a 3-pointer. Tenia Brown closed out the final minutes of play with a pair of baskets, extending the lead to 39 points.
