Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Hunter Gerber

Men's Soccer Thumps Wells Express

The Lancaster Bible men's soccer team followed the women's performance as they cruised to a swift 9-0 victory over the Express of Wells College. The contest would feature scores from several players as the Chargers controlled the game. Following Saturday's win, the Chargers move to 7-3-2 overall and an impressive 4-1-1 in conference play. The Chargers currently sit second in the overall standings with only two more conference games left to play.

How It Happened: It was all Chargers from the get-go. Just 12 seconds into the game, the Chargers would have a near goal, setting the tone early. They would go on to have four first half goals from four different players, three of which were freshmen. Andrew Cox, Ben Nolt, and Hayden Walker would be the three freshmen to score for the Chargers in the first half. Sam Glock would add an upperclassmen goal in the 30th minute of the first half off a sweet free kick several yards outside the box that just managed to slip into the left side of the goal. The Chargers would head into halftime with a 4-0 lead.

Coming out of the half, it wouldn't take long for the Chargers to add another on the board as Nolt found his second score of the game on a great assist from veteran Kedric Yoder in the 47th minute. Yoder would then capitalize on a penalty kick from a handball in the box to make the lead 6-0. Glock would add another one just a minute after the penalty kick on an assist from Nolt. Yoder would have himself another goal on an assist from Nell and Cox would join the two-goal party in the 54th minute on an assist from Yoder.

From the Coach: "We came out strong and we were able to create a lot of good chances in multiple ways. Some of our younger guys got a chance to contribute today and did good things for the team. We'll look to keep building and growing." – Head Coach Tommy Ardt
