How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College softball team dropped its first game of the day to UMass-Boston, falling by a score of 11-2 on Tuesday, March 15.
The Beacons (2-2 Overall) jumped out to an early lead, scoring four runs in the first two innings. LBC (0-5 Overall) responded in the bottom of the second inning.
Adalyn Steiner blasted a single to left field, advancing to second on an error. Steiner advanced to third and then scored on a
Chloe King single, pulling LBC back within three runs. The Chargers struck again in the third inning.
Phoebe Clemens fired a single into left field, eventually advancing to third base. With two outs in the inning,
Bryanna Hoover smacked a single into right field, scoring Clemens to make the score 4-2.
UMass-Boston responded, scoring five runs in the fourth inning to take an 9-2 lead. The Beacons added two more runs in the fifth inning, picking up an 11-2 victory.

How it Happened
The Chargers built an early lead, but the team fell to Keene St. by a score of 11-3 on Tuesday, March 15.
LBC (0-6 Overall) got on the board first, striking in the top of the first inning.
Phoebe Clemens led off by hitting a single into right field.
Sheyenne King chopped a ball toward second base, racing down the line to reach base. After
Alyssa Hamilton moved both runners into scoring position,
Bryanna Hoover drove a single up the middle, scoring two runs. LBC tacked on another run in the top of the second inning.
Hannah Lieb hit a single into left field and eventually advanced to second base. Clemens then lifted a single into right field, scoring Lieb to put LBC ahead 3-0.
Keene St (4-0 Overall) responded, scoring five runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead. The Chargers tried to respond in the fourth inning.
Chloe King worked a walk and then Lieb laid down a great bunt, beating the throw to put runners on first and second base. LBC could not move the runners any further. The Owls added five more runs in the fifth inning, eventually picking up the 11-3 victory.
