Men's Tennis Falls To Western New England

Western New England 7, Lancaster Bible 2

The Lancaster Bible College men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought contest to Western New England University, losing by a score of 7-2 on Friday, March 18. 
 
Singles
- Devon Clemmer played a highly competitive match against the Golden Bears' Nick Bayer in the #1 singles match, losing the first set 7-6 followed by a 6-3 defeat.
- Micah Weaver fell in the #2 spot, dropping straight sets 6-0, 6-4.
- Malachi Bomgardner won several games, but dropped his contest by scores of 6-2 and 6-3.
- In the #4 singles match, Josh Jarvis picked up the lone point for the Chargers in the singles matches, going to a third set tiebreaker and winning the tiebreak 10-8.
- AJ Kwiatkowski couldn't come out on top, losing in the #5 spot 6-2, 6-2.
- Devyn Kintzer battled hard, losing in straight sets by scores of 6-3 and 6-4.
 
Doubles
- In the #1 doubles match, the 1|2 pair of Devon Clemmer and Josh Jarvis fell to their set of Golden Bears by a score of 8-3.
- Micah Weaver and Malachi Bomgardner dropped their match by a score of 8-4.
- In the final doubles match, the duo of AJ Kwiatkowski and Devyn Kintzer picked up the second point for LBC, defeating their opponents 8-4.
 
Coaching Points
"This week was about stretching ourselves and this was another great opportunity to face a quality opponent," said head coach Rod Baughman. "Looking forward to how this might translate as we resume our season next week!"

The men's tennis team will travel to face Neumann University on Tuesday, March 22 at 4:00 p.m.
